Mitch and Kylea presenting the new GritFit Kids session to Grade 6 students
We recently expanded our Schools Program to Primary school students – something which was highly requested!
GritFit Kids is now available as a 1h interactive session centred around mental wellbeing and resilience for Grade 6 students, and focuses on:
🧠 Exploring mental health, the differences between healthy anticipated emotions and experiences, and signs of depression or anxiety
🔎 Knowing what to look out for in ourselves and others
❤️🩹 The brain ways into building resilience and how to boost mental wellbeing and help release feel-good chemicals
🌱 The importance of building a kindness culture and how we can participate in it, as well as mental health services available to support anyone working through a tough time
Delivered by two Stay ChatTY facilitators from the team, we are extremely proud of this new evidence informed, clinically endorsed program which provides students with foundational information, tools and strategies. Here is some feedback from a School Health Nurse, who attended one of our pilot sessions:
“The feedback (from students) has been overwhelmingly positive!
There were lots of whispers in the playground at recess time about the topics discussed today, which is just fantastic!
You were both so engaging and made the content relatable and enjoyable for the age group presented to you. I think they understood the depth of it, while keeping it light.”
