Student Wellbeing Officers will work with wellbeing and student support staff in schools to support the emotional wellbeing of students and the broader school community. The role may also be called upon to assist with SUSC other programs, events and activities in the future.
Areas of SWO work may include:
• pastoral care
• non-clinical student support as part of the School Support and Wellbeing Team
• providing referrals for students or sourcing appropriate services to meet their needs
• supporting student engagement and connectedness
• helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
• coordinating volunteer activities
• breakfast clubs
• lunch time activities
• school incursions and excursions
• parent/caregiver workshops.
While Student Wellbeing Officers will be based in schools under the direction and supervision of the designated schools, they will be part of the Stay ChatTY team and therefore represent Stay ChatTY throughout their role. It is desirable for people to operate within their communities or surrounding communities.
