In April, we were thrilled to host two sold-out Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training sessions in Launceston and Hobart—and what an inspiring turnout it was!
A massive thank you to everyone who joined us. Your willingness to learn, listen, and lead conversations about mental health is exactly what helps build safer, more supportive communities 💙
Why is the MHFA Training important?
At SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY, we believe that if anyone can have a conversation that may save a life, then everyone should know how.
That belief is shared by organisations like Netball Tasmania, who recently arranged for two members from each of their top-tier clubs to attend MHFA trainings. Their proactive approach highlights how sporting communities can play a powerful role in breaking down stigma and supporting teammates on and off the court.
What is MHFA?
Mental Health First Aid equips people with the skills and confidence to support someone who may be experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. It’s practical, evidence-based, and can make a real difference—whether you’re in the workplace, at school, on the field, or with loved ones.
Want to Get Involved?
We’ve just opened up new MHFA training sessions for July and August, with more to come later in the year. Whether you’re attending as an individual or organising for your team, we’d love to have you join us.
