(Tash, Kelvin of ‘A Piano of Tasmania, and Mitch)
Mitch and Tash recently caught up with Kelvin following his EPIC efforts to summit to the pinnacle of kunanyi (all whilst pushing a 240kg piano!!!) to debrief.
There are many successes that can be celebrated in this accomplishment, such as the incredible awareness raising and conversation starters surrounding mental health, the resilience and grit shown by Kelvin, and the amazing fundraising and support for his efforts now pushing his total to over $25,000.00 in support of Stay ChatTY!
But for us, the part we feel demonstrates the biggest success is the team work that made all of this possible 💙
Kelvin shared with us some of the incredible ways his support crew rallied around him in the most difficult parts of the push – including the many treks up and down ahead of Kelvin, preparing for his arrival and ensuring warmth, food and the ability to momentarily rest.
The power of music ♫♫ rang out across the mountain with many people lining the road to play their instruments to cheer Kelvin on (this included one of his support crew playing the violin at 2am to help focus Kelvin back into the task when things got tough).
No matter how tough it got his support crew were right beside him, every step of the way!
It’s a powerful reminder that accomplishments rarely happen in isolation, it is the power of teamwork and human connection that make it all possible.
