If you or someone you know needs support with their mental health, there are many in-person, telephone and online counselling services available.

A Tasmanian Lifeline1800 98 44 34 – If your struggling, feeling alone or fearful for the future. A Tasmanian Lifeline provides free, confidential, Tasmanian based new and ongoing phone support, or book a call back from us on the link (Between 8am and 8pm 7 days a week).

Lifeline Australia – 13 11 14 – ‘Crisis support and suicide prevention.’

Kids Helpline – 1800 551 800 – ‘Free confidential telephone and online counselling service for children and young people aged 5-25.’

MensLine Australia  – 1300 789 978 – ‘Telephone and online support, information and referral service, helping men deal with relationship problems in a practical’ and effective way.

Suicide Call Back Service – 1300 659 467 – ‘Free nationwide telephone and online counselling for anyone affected by suicide.’

Beyondblue – 1300 224 636 – ‘Free nationwide telephone and online counselling for any mental health issue.  Information and support for depression, suicide, anxiety disorders and other mental issues.’

SANE – 1800 187 263 – ‘Information about mental health disorders, treatments and where to go for support.’

Butterfly Foundation – 1800 33 4673 – ‘Butterfly’s ED HOPE is Australia’s national eating disorders support service. Only available 8am-12am AEST, 7 days a week.’

Open Arms1800 011 046 – ‘24/7 support for current and ex-serving ADF personnel and their families’

QLife1800 184 527 –  ‘Anonymous and free LGBTI peer support and referral for people in Australia wanting to talk about sexuality, identity, gender, bodies, feelings or relationships. 3pm – midnight, every day.’

Working It Out – Tasmania’s only dedicated LGBTIQ+ support, advocacy and education service (support groups).
