We wanted to give a huge shout out to our amazing Youth Advisor Joel Berry, and the incredible group of young people he has brought together from across the state.
Developing a Youth Reference Group was on our wish list 15 months ago, and thankfully it has become a reality in 2020 thanks to the ongoing support we continue to receive.
Joel is the perfect fit, coming to us with a background in Bachelor of Social Work with Honours, and a real passion for mental health.
Joel quickly assembled a network of young people that could give us youth-led input into our Schools program, as well as other youth-focused initiatives.
The Young Reference Group was formed in late 2019, and it has been a year full of virtual meetings due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Finally, the group was able to get together physically, and the rest of the team were able to join to share our roles and our passion for what we do within Stay ChatTY.
It was such a special evening for all involved, and such a huge moment for Joel to see all of his hard work finally come together.
