Our friends at Make Runs Maxi came through with an incredible opportunity for sports clubs, by funding a special Mental Health First Aid training in Launceston on the 13-14 February 2024. Usually $325, sports clubs will be able to access the training for a small admin fee instead!
Why it’s important: 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health concern in any given year. That means we all probably know someone who is experiencing a mental health problem, whether that is a family member, a friend or a team member.
What the training is about: We know that conversations can save lives, but it’s not always easy to “have the chat”. The Mental Health First Aid course was created to teach everyone how to provide that crucial initial support, and we’re so excited to be one of the accredited trainers in Tasmania.
Everyone who completes the training and the online assessment after the course becomes an accredited Mental Health First Aider, which is something we’ve received fantastic feedback on.
