Last week the Stay ChatTY team once again took our Schools Program back to the year 9 boys at St Virgil’s College.
Mitch in particular had a ball speaking to the lads at his old stomping ground, reminiscing on his own experiences as a teenager and sharing his life lessons.
It’s humbling to think of how far we’ve come as a society in regards to the stigma around mental health. When Mitch was a teenage boy, there was very little education or awareness around the importance of prioritising your mental health.
Here we are, nearly 20 years later, invited by schools all across the state to start conversations about these important topics. Getting to have open, honest conversations and normalise talking about your emotions with these students is one of our favourite things ever.
Thanks, St Virgil’s for having us and embracing vulnerability.
